Derbyshire are hosting a special This Girl Can Afternoon Tea, with guest speaker Claire Lomas MBE, on Thursday 10 May to celebrate women in sport and business.
Join 1870 Business Club partners on Thursday 10 May for this unique event which builds on our inaugural This Girl Can Afternoon Tea last summer, and continues to celebrate women in sport and business in Derbyshire.
Guests this year will be treated to afternoon tea, prosecco and inspirational talks from guest speaker Claire Lomas MBE, as well as the Director and Co-Founder of 3aaa Apprenticeships, Di McEvoy-Robinson.
With insights relevant to the wider business community, this inspirational afternoon will motivate, inspire and provoke.
Guest speaker, Claire Lomas MBE, will share her story of triumph over adversity. She is left with paraplegia following an eventing accident, yet is determined to continue challenging herself. Proving she could overcome obstacles, Claire made headlines by walking the 2012 London Marathon in a pioneering robotic suit.
Recently Claire completed her second marathon in Manchester. She was able to cross the finish line only eight days after setting off. This far bettered her previous 17-day record she set walking the London Marathon in 2012.
