The 3aaa County Ground was host to the England & Wales Cricket Board’s Groundsman of the Year Awards this weekend.
The 3aaa Pavilion, located close to Derby Train Station and often the setting for weddings, Christmas parties and Conferences in Derby, was chosen as the venue for the prestigious awards night.
Groundsmen from the 18 first-class counties were present as awards were given for four-day and one-day pitches, along with outgrounds and university pitches.
Derbyshire Head Groundsman, Neil Godrich, was commended in the category for four-day pitches, following on from last year when he was named One-Day Groundsman of the Year.
Guests in the 3aaa Pavilion were treated to a delicious three-course meal freshly prepared and served by the Derbyshire Experience team.
