Echo Fest: a brand-new three-day music festival set to debut in Derby this summer

A brand-new three-day music festival showcasing some of the UK’s top tribute acts is coming to Derby this summer. Echo Fest will take place at The Central Co-op County Ground from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 July, promising feel-good festival vibes, big sing-along anthems, memorable moments and a full weekend of live entertainment for music fans of all ages.

With ease of access in mind the location is just a short walk from Derby city centre, and the festival will run from 4pm to 11pm on Friday and 11am to 11pm on Saturday and Sunday. Alongside the live music, festivalgoers can enjoy fairground rides, roaming performers and magicians, as well as quality food and drink available throughout the weekend. A variety of street food traders, craft beer and cocktail bars will be on offer.

Families can make the most of a dedicated children’s area featuring activities, workshops, face painting and kids’ discos, while the festival will maintain a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere throughout.

Echo Fest is organised by Derbyshire-based brothers Mark, Paul and Andrew Gibson, who bring more than 20 years of experience in the live music and events industry.

“We’re so excited to bring Echo Fest to Derby,” said festival founder Mark Gibson, “and we’re working with as many local businesses and brands as possible.

“We want people to leave the festival having had an incredible experience and thinking ‘What a great day!’ That's our main goal. From the music to the atmosphere, everything has been designed to create an unforgettable experience.”

The festival will exclusively feature tribute acts, with each day centred around a different theme. Friday’s ‘Alternative Anthems’ line-up includes tributes to Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, The Killers and Nirvana. Saturday’s ‘Top of the Pops’ day brings high-energy pop favourites to the stage, with tributes to Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi, K-Pop, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Adele and Oasis. The weekend concludes on Sunday with ‘Classic Rock’, featuring tributes to Queen, Bon Jovi, Black Sabbath, KISS, The Rolling Stones and AC/DC.

Paul Gibson added, “These are songs and artists people absolutely love. We wanted to create an affordable live music experience where people can sing, dance and enjoy great production values without the huge price tag. It’s about nostalgia, being part of a great atmosphere and enjoying the summer with friends and family.”

Tom Skinner, head of marketing and communications at Derbyshire County Cricket Club, said: “It’s a pleasure to work with the Echo Fest team on such a community-driven event, which will bring a real festival atmosphere to The Central Co-op County Ground and build on the numerous successful concerts held at the venue since 2017.”

Weekend tickets for Echo Fest go on sale at 10am on 9 February, with an early access 25% discount available for a limited time.
